Animal Portrait Session

Last weekend I had the opportunity to conduct a Pet Portrait session for Liz and Craig. When I say pet, I'm not sure if that is an accurate description of a horse, but Liz and Craig had two for me to point my camera at, Pathea and Holly. There was also Bobby the dog who didn't want to be left out of the fun.

On location at the stables I used speedlites to provide the lighting for most of the shots. I really wanted to add a bit of drama with the lighting and started off in one of the darker stables to obtain some nice head shots using one speedlite in a softbox to side light Pathea.

Manoeuvring a large horse into position wasn't the easiest of tasks, but Liz was very accommodating and we managed some of the shots you see here.

Once we had grabbed a few shots of Holly as well, it just left Bobby to take centre stage and have a few portraits done too.

My thanks again to Liz and Craig for their help with getting the horses into the correct position, a good time was had by all.

Please get in touch if you would like some images of your pets and I'm sure I can provide you with some images to treasure.
