This workshop takes place in Richmond Park during October to coincide with the annual Rutting Season of Britains largest land mammal, the Red Deer.
I run my workshops on a 1 to 1 basis, in order to give you my undivided attention, but if you would like to book with a friend, I'm happy to conduct a workshop for 2 people at the same time.
This workshop will run for up to 5 hours, which gives us time find suitable subjects to photograph and discuss settings and techniques etc.
We will meet in time for the park entrance gates to be unlocked to vehicles, which is 07:00 up to 17/10/22, after which it changes to 07:30.
The rutting season is a spectacular time for Red Deer photography, with the Stags in peak condition, bellowing and chasing rivals away from their harem of Hinds. The action can be explosive if 2 Stags of a similar size have a dispute over who has control over the hinds. They will Parallel Walk and posture to each other, but if one doesn't back down they will clash with locked antlers to see which one is strong enough to have the right to mate with the Hinds when they come into season.
There is no guarantee that we will witness a clash of Stags, but there is plenty of other behaviour to photograph, and the Stags will be looking at their best with a full set of antlers. The sight and sound of a bellowing Stag has to be seen and heard.
Workshop Cost: £150 per person. (Maximum of 2 people).
